What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and monitor the department’s budget and administrative matters
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for budget management and control
- Monitor the implementation of expenditure against voted funds
- Identify and report unauthorized, irregular, and wasteful expenditure
- Administer provincial adjustment estimates and related submissions
- Participate in budget planning and the compilation of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework
- Maintain the Department Chart of Accounts
- Monitor expenditure trends and reconcile against budget projections
- Facilitate year-end processes regarding budgetary management
- Oversee revenue management and asset management processes
- Implement effective risk and compliance management practices
- Guide and coach staff on best practices and regulatory compliance
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Financial Administration or a related field at NQF Level 6
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role, particularly in budget administration
- Knowledge of National Treasury Regulations and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Familiarity with various filing systems and departmental legislation
- Understanding of the Public Service Regulatory Framework and Supply Chain Management processes
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work extended hours
- Strong skills in planning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and financial administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team
