What You’ll Do

  • Implement access control measures according to the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985).
  • Verify the identity of employees, visitors, and contractors at security access points.
  • Maintain a visitor’s register and issue admission control cards.
  • Conduct patrols of buildings and fenced-off areas to ensure security.
  • Monitor and check all incoming supplies and articles to prevent safety threats.
  • Report any security deficiencies or issues to senior personnel promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and security protocols.

What You’ll Need

  • Competency in the core functions of the role.
  • Proficiency in at least English and one other official language.
  • South African citizenship with documentary proof.
  • A Grade 10/ Standard 8/ NCV level 2 certificate (NQF level 2).
  • Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and a Grade C security certificate or higher.
  • Willingness to undergo firearm competency training and maintain it.
  • A valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours.
