What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement innovative methodologies, systems, and procedures for agricultural analysis.
• Identify customer needs for new methods and address gaps with appropriate interventions.
• Provide expert scientific advice and support to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct routine testing of agricultural products to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Gather, interpret, and analyze scientific data to evaluate results and disseminate findings.
• Formulate proposals and compile detailed scientific reports.
• Mentor and train staff to enhance skills and promote knowledge transfer.
• Engage in continuous research and development to advance agricultural sciences.
• Liaise with relevant councils and bodies on science-related matters.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and a BSc Honours in Chemistry.
• Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Professional Natural Scientist.
• At least three years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of Public Service policies and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
• Strong skills in scientific methodologies, data analysis, and technical report writing.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to handle hazardous chemicals effectively.
