What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the lodgement of land claims and categorize them per local municipality
  • Engage with municipalities to facilitate the settlement of claims
  • Validate land claims through oral and archival research
  • Conduct site inspections and analysis of aerial photographs
  • Facilitate discussions on overlapping land claims and separation of rights
  • Manage the verification process for lodged claims
  • Draft reports and submissions related to land claims
  • Assist in managing the payment of beneficiaries and closing of commitment registers
  • Negotiate settlements and conduct option exercises with claimants
  • Identify claims for valuation by the Office of the Valuer General

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Agriculture, Development Studies, Social Science, Law, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a land reform environment
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of development management, research methods, and community facilitation
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and contract management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literacy and the ability to draft reports and terms of reference
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours
