What You’ll Do
- Lead the strategic development and implementation of policies, systems, and procedures related to natural resource management.
- Oversee research and development initiatives to ensure the provision of sound advice and governance in environmental matters.
- Manage financial and human resources to optimise team performance and project outcomes.
- Provide expert guidance on agricultural scientific practices and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, including environmental and safety regulations.
- Foster a culture of high performance and innovation within the department.
What You’ll Need
- An M.Sc degree (NQF level 9) in Natural Resource Management, Ecological Science, Environmental Science, or Soil Science.
- Compulsory registration with SACNASP as a Professional Natural Scientist and a valid driver’s licence.
- At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in an Agricultural Scientific Environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards, GIS, and climate change interactions.
- Strong background in managing large-scale soil surveys, land use planning, and environmental management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide teams effectively.
