What You’ll Do

• Manage and coordinate scientific research and development projects related to agricultural risk and climate change adaptation.
• Develop and implement policies and strategies to enhance agricultural disaster risk management.
• Oversee stakeholder relations and manage partnerships to align efforts across various sectors.
• Conduct agricultural disaster risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend funding schemes.
• Implement climate change programs that address the needs of the agricultural sector.
• Manage human and financial resources within the sub-directorate, ensuring effective service delivery.

What You’ll Need

• An M.Sc degree (NQF level 9) in Agricultural Disaster Management, Climate Change Adaptation, or Environmental Sciences.
• Compulsory registration with SACNASP as a Professional Natural Scientist.
• A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification natural scientific experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the Disaster Management Act, National Climate Change Act, and related policies.
• Strong skills in strategic planning, project management, and policy development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
