What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership in developing and implementing national policy frameworks for natural agricultural resources management.
• Build and maintain relationships with provincial, national, and international partners to enhance collaborative efforts.
• Develop policies and administrative systems for the collection, analysis, and archiving of agricultural data.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of policies and guide the establishment of scientific standards.
• Oversee the application of methodologies and standards for geo-referenced data usage.
• Conduct and coordinate research programs to support sustainable agricultural practices.
• Mentor and develop staff to ensure skills transfer and adherence to scientific principles.
• Compile and present scientific reports and findings at various forums.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and an MSc Degree in agriculture or equivalent qualifications.
• Registration as a Professional Natural Scientist (Agriculture, Soil Science) with SACNAP.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in natural agricultural resources management.
• Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) related to agricultural resources.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant agricultural legislation and policies.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
• Proven project management and personnel management capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
