What You’ll Do

• Promote household food and nutrition security across communities.
• Coordinate food security programs at departmental and provincial levels.
• Liaise with key stakeholders for effective planning and implementation of food security initiatives.
• Represent the Department at provincial and national food security forums.
• Compile and update databases of beneficiaries of agricultural food security initiatives.
• Create awareness campaigns regarding food security issues.
• Disseminate information about food security to management, peers, and clients.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of food security initiatives.
• Coordinate and implement programs for youth in agriculture.
• Manage events related to food security, including awareness, applications, and adjudication.
• Supervise and manage staff, ensuring effective human capital development.
• Compile necessary reports and manage the physical assets of the unit.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture (NQF level 8).
• 3 to 4 years of experience in middle management at an Assistant Director level, preferably in a food security environment.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
