About the Role

What You’ll Do
- Promote household food and nutrition security across communities.
- Coordinate food security programs at departmental and provincial levels.
- Liaise with key stakeholders for effective planning and implementation of food security initiatives.
- Represent the Department at provincial and national food security forums.
- Compile and update databases of beneficiaries of agricultural food security initiatives.
- Create awareness campaigns regarding food security issues.
- Disseminate information about food security to management, peers, and clients.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of food security initiatives.
- Coordinate and implement programs for youth in agriculture.
- Manage events related to food security, including awareness, applications, and adjudication.
- Supervise and manage staff, ensuring effective human capital development.
- Compile necessary reports and manage the physical assets of the unit.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Agriculture (NQF level 8).
- 3 to 4 years of experience in middle management at an Assistant Director level, preferably in a food security environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
