What You’ll Do
- Manage and conduct economic research on agricultural issues to provide insights and forecasts.
- Develop and present policy briefs and technical reports to management.
- Formulate recommendations and plans to guide departmental interventions in international trade.
- Monitor trends in agricultural commodity markets and report findings.
- Facilitate and support the implementation of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements.
- Coordinate research and prepare negotiating positions for trade treaties.
- Represent the department in international trade forums and negotiations.
- Provide trade intelligence and advice to stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
What You’ll Need
- A completed Pre-entry Certificate for SMS endorsed by the National School of Government (NSG).
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Agricultural Economics, Trade, or Development Economics.
- At least 5 years of experience in middle or senior managerial roles related to agricultural or international trade.
- Comprehensive understanding of legislation governing public service and agricultural policies.
- Proven skills in financial management, strategic leadership, and project management.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to service delivery innovation.
