What You’ll Do
- Manage and ensure compliance with relevant agricultural legislation.
- Coordinate quality inspection services for regulated agricultural products.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for inspections.
- Provide technical guidance and advice on inspection matters.
- Create and execute action plans for awareness programs related to agricultural practices.
- Conduct audits of phytosanitary, quality, and food safety management systems.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including farmers and industry representatives, on technical matters.
- Issue phytosanitary and quality certificates required for international trade.
- Participate in various internal and external forums to represent the department.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Agriculture or related fields.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience at a junior management level.
- Strong knowledge of public service regulations and international agreements on food quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient planning, organizing, and technical skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong report writing skills.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
