About the Role
The Department of Agriculture is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of Director: Sustainable Resource Management, based in Glen, South Africa. What You’ll Do
- Manage the provision of engineering services related to sustainable resource management.
- Promote sustainable land care practices and the implementation of effective agricultural risk management plans.
- Coordinate resources, including human, financial, and equipment, for optimal performance within the Directorate.
- Provide insights and inputs to provincial policies to enhance service delivery and align with strategic objectives.
- Foster partnerships with relevant stakeholders to improve service delivery outcomes.
- Advise the Chief Director on strategic matters to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Participate in the development of the Directorate’s 5-year strategic plan and annual performance plan.
- Monitor the implementation of sustainable resource management initiatives and report on their progress.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or Land Use Planning.
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role within a sustainable or natural resource management environment.
- A valid driver’s license (code B).
- Compulsory Nyukela SMS pre-entry certificate prior to appointment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant policies and legislation related to sustainable resource management.
- Core competencies in strategic capability, leadership, people management, and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a client-focused approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
