What You’ll Do

  • Study and analyze case dockets to prepare for court proceedings.
  • Decide on the institution of criminal proceedings and draft necessary legal documents.
  • Represent the State in court, leading witnesses and conducting cross-examinations.
  • Address the court on matters of conviction and sentencing.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to prosecutions.
  • Collaborate with partners in the criminal justice system to promote community involvement.
  • Uphold the Code of Conduct, Policy, and Directives of the NPA.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
  • A minimum of four years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • Proven competency in acting independently, professionally, and credibly.
  • Experience guiding investigations and providing legal instructions in regional court.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in litigation within regional courts.
  • A valid driver’s license for performing relief duties at various courts within the cluster.
