What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality primary health care and curative services to patients.
- Evaluate and follow up on patients during clinic visits to assess their health progress.
- Initiate treatment and implement health care programs tailored to community needs.
- Coordinate care between hospitals and community health services, ensuring seamless patient transitions.
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality while preventing medico-legal risks.
- Organize daily clinic tasks in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
- Manage health information data and ensure accurate record-keeping of patient activities.
- Participate in community meetings, identifying health needs and promoting public health initiatives.
- Mentor and educate junior nursing staff and patients on health-related matters.
- Assist in regional and departmental research projects to address community health needs.
What You’ll Need
- A Diploma or Degree in Nursing, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Primary Health Care, accredited with SANC.
- For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years relevant nursing experience post-SANC registration.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years relevant nursing experience post-SANC registration, with at least 10 years in a specialty area.
- A valid driver’s license and up-to-date knowledge of relevant health legislation and nursing practices.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in computer skills and report writing, with effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
