What You’ll Do
- Provide optimal nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards.
- Utilise resources effectively to enhance patient care and support nursing services.

- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

- Participate in shift work, including day and night duties, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Rotate to different wards as required to meet hospital operational needs.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent, also eligible for SANC registration.
- For Grade 2, a minimum of 10 years’ relevant nursing experience after SANC registration.
- For Grade 3, a minimum of 20 years’ relevant nursing experience after SANC registration.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Competency in computer literacy, specifically MS Word and Excel.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to function independently under pressure.
- Knowledge of nursing protocols and policies in a hospital setting.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
OR A 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience: Grade 1: None.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work shifts, day & night duty, weekends, public holidays and overtime to meet the operational requirements.
Willingness to rotate to other wards when required.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
Planning and organisational skills.
The ability to function independently under pressure.
Knowledge and insight into protocols and policies pertaining to nursing practices in a hospital setting.
