What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality anaesthetic care to patients in operating rooms and critical care units.
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in Anaesthesiology and Critical Care.
- Evaluate the performance of students and peers to maintain high educational standards.
- Conduct research related to Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, contributing to scholarly publications.
- Manage hospital and university administrative tasks as required.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in Anaesthesiology to enhance clinical practice.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology.
- For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist post-registration.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as part of outreach programs.
- Excellent communication skills and evidence of effective teamwork.
- Ability to supervise registrars and prepare them for their Fellowship examination in Anaesthesiology.
