About the Opportunity

The Dis-Chem Dispensary Support Learnership offers a unique opportunity for aspiring individuals to delve into the pharmaceutical and pharmacy environment. This programme is designed to develop learners into proficient Basic Pharmacist Assistants, initially employed on a fixed-term basis until registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) is achieved. Permanent employment may be offered upon successful qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Participants will engage in various tasks, including assisting with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines, preparing and compounding non-sterile medicines, and managing dispensary stock. Duties also encompass interpreting prescriptions, picking and labeling medication, and ensuring stock control for Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines. Learners will provide health-related information to customers and assist with medical scheme authorizations.

Requirements/Qualifications

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and either Physical Science or Life Science, achieving an average of at least 50%. Proficiency in English and a second language, along with skills in time management, communication, and teamwork, are essential.
