What You’ll Do
- Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of clinical practice and patient care nursing plans.
- Implement standards and practices to ensure quality nursing care.
- Maintain compliance with laws and regulations relevant to nursing and healthcare.
- Foster constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
- Efficiently manage human, material, and physical resources in the nursing environment.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Alternatively, a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing that permits SANC registration.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in nursing after SANC registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ experience in nursing after SANC registration.
- Willingness to assist or rotate to other wards and work shifts, including night shifts and overtime.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care processes, the Nursing Act, and effective communication skills.

Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R254) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
OR A 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) or equivalent qualification (R683 plus R1497 or R171 plus R1497) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Experience: Grade 1: None.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
Inherent requirements of the job: Must be willing to assist or rotate to other wards within the institution.
Willingness to work shifts, night shift and overtime when required.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of Nursing Care processes and procedures Nursing Act.
Problem-solving and decision-making.
Report writing skills.
Health promotion and team building.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
