What You’ll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care in the Advanced Midwifery Unit, following established norms and standards.
• Manage resources effectively and ensure quality patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement programs to enhance service delivery.
• Supervise and implement patient care standards while fostering constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
• Plan and organize your workload and that of support personnel.
• Contribute to staff development and performance management initiatives.
• Report on patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
• Work collaboratively with diverse teams, embracing various cultural perspectives.
• Uphold the principles of Batho Pele and the Patient’s Rights Charter.

What You’ll Need

• Senior Certificate/Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
• Basic nursing qualification accredited with the SANC (e.g., Diploma/Degree in General Nursing).
• Post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery Nursing Science, accredited with the SANC.
• A minimum of four years’ experience as a registered Professional Nurse with the SANC.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
• Good supervisory and teaching capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
