The Department of Infrastructure is seeking a Professional Engineer (Production Level) based in Cape Town, Western Cape. What You’ll Do
- Provide expert comments and recommendations on development applications affecting the proclaimed road network.
- Develop mechanisms to counter illegal activities impacting road safety.
- Identify road safety problems and implement remedial measures to enhance public safety.
- Coordinate and manage in-house road construction, resealing, regraveling, and routine maintenance activities.
- Develop procedures and methods that improve productivity and quality for in-house projects.
- Manage acceptance and quality control procedures, compiling design specifications for projects.
- Compile tender documentation and technical specifications for road construction materials and services.
- Support the District Road Engineer in various engineering duties as required.
What You’ll Need
- A Civil Engineering Degree (B Eng/BSC(Eng)) or a relevant qualification.
- Three years of post-qualification engineering experience.
- Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- A valid code B or higher driving licence.
- Knowledge of land use planning, road design and construction, and relevant legislation.
- Strong skills in project management, financial management, and professional judgement.
- Proficient written and verbal communication, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.
