What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate interlibrary loans to expand access to legal materials.
  • Provide reference assistance and legal research support to judges, lawyers, and court staff.
  • Conduct training sessions on effective legal research methods and database use.
  • Advocate for the library’s importance within the court system and promote its resources.
  • Supervise library staff and manage administrative functions for efficient operations.
  • Monitor budget allocations and procurement processes for library materials.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma in Library Science/Information Science or equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Library Services.
  • A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of library and information science practices and legislation.
  • Familiarity with online legal databases such as LexisNexis, Juta, and Westlaw.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer service skills.
  • Research and analytical skills with an understanding of information management.
