What You’ll Do

  • Provide effective management and professional leadership in the Post Natal Unit.
  • Facilitate effective communication with patients, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
  • Manage and supervise all resources within the unit efficiently.
  • Advocate for patient care and ensure adherence to Batho Pele principles.
  • Maintain clinical competence and implement nursing and governance principles.
  • Oversee the implementation of maternal guidelines and nursing legislation.
  • Handle discipline, grievances, and labor-related issues as per established procedures.
  • Formulate training programs and participate in the development of nursing staff and students.
  • Monitor disaster management and service delivery frameworks.
  • Coordinate health promotion activities and evaluate health data.
  • Support Nursing Services Management by working weekends and nights as required.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate/Grade 12 and a Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Midwifery Nursing Science accredited by the SANC.
  • A Diploma/Degree in Nursing Administration and Management.
  • A minimum of nine years of appropriate recognisable nursing experience.
  • At least five years of experience specific to Advanced Midwifery Nursing Science.
  • Three years of management-level experience in nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing care processes, statutes, and legal frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including public relations and conflict resolution.
  • Basic computer literacy to enhance service delivery.
