What You’ll Do

  • Manage and oversee the research project processes within the department.
  • Provide line administrative support to the Chief Director, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Coordinate resources efficiently within the office of the Chief Director.
  • Conduct research, analyse data, and compile detailed documents for various initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting meetings held by the Chief Director.
  • Stay informed about relevant policies, prescripts, and procedures to provide effective support.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a 3-year post-school qualification at NQF level 6 or higher.
  • At least 3 years of experience in providing executive support to top management.
  • A valid code EB or higher driving license (candidates with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable transport access are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of public service regulatory frameworks and government policies.
  • Proficiency in financial and people management, as well as information and records management.
  • Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal relations.

Requirements

An appropriate 3-year post school qualification at NQF level 6 (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years' experience in rendering executive support functions to top management; A valid code EB or higher driving licence.

Competencies: Knowledge of the following: Public Service Regulatory Framework; Policies and priorities of provincial and national government; Modern systems of governance and administration; Executive support function which include liaising with national/provincial ministers, national/provincial ministries, Office of the Premier and Office of the Provincial Standing Committee; Financial and people management; Information and records management; Relevant software packages; Intergovernmental and international relationships.

Job Duties

Manage Research Project Process of Programme; Render line administrative support services; Manage resources in the office of the Chief Director: Research and Technology Development Services; Execute research, analyse information and compile complex documents; Provide support to the Chief Director with regard to meetings; Remain up to date with regard to the applicable prescripts/policies and procedures applicable to his/her work terrain to ensure efficient and effective support.

Salary

R487 197 - R573 897 per annum (Level 09)
