What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and train students in practical settings.
  • Organise and manage events and projects to advocate for mental health services within the community.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • For Grade 1: No experience required after registration; one year of relevant experience for foreign-qualified candidates.
  • For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience post-registration.
  • For Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience post-registration.
  • A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies for clients facing mental health challenges and relevant health legislation.
  • Competence in evidence-based practices and the PSR model in mental health environments.
  • Proficient computer literacy.
