About the Role
The Department of Health is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist Grade 1-3 to join the team at Botshabelo District Hospital. What You’ll Do
- Assess and treat adult and paediatric patients with both physical and psychiatric disorders.
- Manage an allocated clinical load and assist with additional clinical responsibilities as needed.
- Participate in administrative tasks and uphold departmental policies and regulations.
- Engage in quality assurance processes and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students and provide mentorship as required.
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to enhance your skills.
- Handle consumables and equipment with care, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
What You’ll Need
- A degree in Occupational Therapy and completion of a community service year.
- Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an independent practitioner.
- Current HPCSA registration for the 2026/2027 period.
- Relevant work exposure or further training will be considered an advantage.
- No experience required for Grade 1; at least 10 years for Grade 2; and a minimum of 20 years for Grade 3 after HPCSA registration.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under pressure.
- Proficiency in using MS Word and MS Excel.
