What You’ll Do

  • Consolidate information related to nuclear safety, liabilities, and emergency management.
  • Gather methodologies, technologies, and best practices for managing nuclear safety liabilities.
  • Assist in the implementation of Nuclear Emergency projects to enhance preparedness and response.
  • Participate in departmental activities related to international nuclear safety conventions.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders regarding nuclear safety issues.
  • Provide Secretariat Support for the Directorate of Safety and Emergency Management.

What You’ll Need

  • A degree in Natural Science, with a major in Physical Sciences and Chemistry at NQF Level 7, recognized by SAQA.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a science-related field.
  • Knowledge of nuclear policy, legislation, and government processes.
  • Familiarity with approaches to the legislative aspects of the Nuclear Liabilities Service Act.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and computer skills.
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to problem-solving.
