What You’ll Do

• Deliver specialist psychiatric clinical services in various settings, including wards and outpatient departments.
• Engage in administrative and clinical governance, ensuring adherence to health policies and procedures.
• Lead and supervise junior medical staff and healthcare training initiatives.
• Conduct outreach services to support primary health care professionals in the community.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data analysis to enhance service delivery.
• Collaborate with mental health care review boards and other referral facilities to streamline patient care.

What You’ll Need

• Appropriate qualification allowing registration as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry.
• For Grade 1: No experience required post-registration.
• For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry post-registration.
• For Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist in Psychiatry post-registration.
• Strong clinical experience in psychiatry and primary health care settings.
• Excellent communication, managerial, and conflict resolution skills.
