What You’ll Do

  • Participate in training and apply cognitive and technical skills in Gastroenterology.
  • Conduct endoscopic and other relevant procedures as directed.
  • Manage clinical services and supervise junior staff.
  • Maintain high clinical, professional, and ethical standards.
  • Engage in research activities and assist in academic programs.
  • Provide training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics and offer expert medical opinions.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote health initiatives.

What You’ll Need

  • MBChB Degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Registration as a Specialist Physician with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Current HPCSA registration as a Specialist Physician.
  • No experience required for Grade 1; 5 years for Grade 2; 10 years for Grade 3.
  • Ability to teach and supervise junior staff.
  • Strong administrative, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Registration as a subspecialist in medical gastroenterology is an advantage.
