About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Head of Department: Clinical Coordinator at the Addington Campus in KwaZulu Natal. What You’ll Do
- Coordinate the education and training of student nurses.
- Manage clinical learning exposure for students in collaboration with the clinical area.
- Oversee and supervise nursing students during their clinical practice.
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs for nursing education.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build strong departmental relationships.
- Participate in policy development and analysis related to nursing education.
- Review and develop nursing curricula for various training categories.
- Facilitate Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities at the campus.
- Engage in governance structures of the College and support its mission.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports for students and staff.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) plus a degree/diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatric and Community Nursing Science registered with SANC.
- A degree/diploma in Nursing Education registered with SANC.
- A degree/diploma in Health Service Management/Nursing Administration registered with SANC.
- At least nine years of relevant experience as a Professional Nurse after SANC registration.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in nursing education as a lecturer in a recognised institution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in teaching and assessment methodologies applicable to nursing education.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks in nursing education.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, along with good research and analytical capabilities.
- A valid RSA driver’s licence (Code EB) and willingness to travel.
