What You’ll Do

• Assist in dispensing medications according to approved Standard Operating Procedures.
• Receive, store, issue, and manage pharmaceutical stock efficiently.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory management.
• Prepare and distribute medicines to various wards, clinics, and departments.
• Maintain accurate pharmaceutical records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice and relevant pharmaceutical legislation.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives related to medicine management.
• Keep pharmacy storage areas clean and organized.
• Provide medication information to healthcare professionals and patients as needed.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager or supervising pharmacist with assigned tasks.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic).
• For Grade 1: No prior experience required.
• For Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) after registration with SAPC.
• For Grade 3: At least 12 years of relevant experience as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) after registration with SAPC.
• Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act and Good Pharmacy Practice.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical legislation and policies.
• Proficient in stock control and medicine supply management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to write reports effectively.
