What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including deliveries and the management of obstetric emergencies.
- Perform physical assessments and diagnose common health problems in line with professional guidelines.
- Implement nursing standards and protocols to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Manage maternal, child, and women’s health programs, including immunizations and family planning services.
- Triage patients, ensuring appropriate referrals and follow-ups for untraceable clients.
- Promote infection prevention and control measures within the hospital.
- Participate in community health education and outreach services.
- Supervise and mentor enrolled nurses and community health workers.
- Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and data capturing to support healthcare delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, enabling registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
- Current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
- Experience requirements vary: Grade 1 – No experience, Grade 2 – Minimum of 10 years, Grade 3 – Minimum of 20 years post-registration experience.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care processes, legal frameworks, and ethical standards.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
- Computer literacy and effective information management skills are essential.
