What You’ll Do

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
• Facilitate patient mobility and ensure safe transfers
• Measure, interpret, and record vital signs accurately
• Support professional nurses with clinical procedures, including administering injections
• Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas and medical equipment
• Observe and report changes in patients’ physical and emotional conditions
• Follow infection prevention protocols and practice proper hygiene
• Respond promptly to patient requests and emergencies
• Participate in shift handovers and follow instructions from supervisors
• Ensure patient confidentiality and uphold a professional code of conduct

What You’ll Need

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• A Nursing Assistant certificate allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Current registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant
• For Grade 1: No prior experience required; for Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years experience; for Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years experience in nursing
• Basic communication and writing skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate interpersonal skills
• Understanding of the Nursing Act, Health Act, and Public Service Regulations
