What You’ll Do
- Manage and mentor a team of prosecutors, providing guidance and support in legal matters.
- Review case dockets and determine the institution of criminal proceedings.
- Conduct and oversee complex criminal cases in both Regional and District Courts.
- Prepare court cases, draft charge sheets, and present the State’s case in court.
- Lead witnesses, cross-examine, and address the court on matters of conviction and sentencing.
- Assist in the performance assessment of staff and manage office administration for the District and Regional Courts.
- Foster community involvement and customer satisfaction in collaboration with criminal justice partners.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
- At least six years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage court proceedings effectively.
- Strong management and administrative skills, with proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent drafting skills for complex legal documents and charge sheets.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
