What You’ll Do

• Maintain the grounds at Bloemhof Dam by caring for plants, trees, and gardens.
• Clean and repair structures and tools, ensuring they remain functional and safe.
• Load and move heavy equipment related to water schemes.
• Spray fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides as needed for garden upkeep.
• Conduct regular inspections of tools and report any defaults.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of sidewalks, driveways, and other outdoor features.
• Work collaboratively with team members and under supervision to achieve departmental goals.

What You’ll Need

• An ABET Certificate or relevant qualification.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Basic knowledge of gardening equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
