What You’ll Do

• Assist with silviculture functions within plantations and forests.
• Mark and count trees, and maintain equipment used in forestry operations.
• Update various registers related to forestry work activities.
• Prepare sites for planting and perform essential tasks such as weeding and coppice reduction.
• Conduct forest protection tasks, including fire protection and suppression duties.
• Manage conservation zones and remove alien species to protect indigenous flora.
• Facilitate the harvesting process, including debarking and pole measuring.
• Support in the propagation and monitoring of plants and trees.

What You’ll Need

• Grade 9 (NQF level 1) or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
• A willingness to learn and no prior experience is required for this role.
• Basic knowledge of planting techniques and firefighting methods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating responsibility and self-discipline.
