What You’ll Do

• Manage daily plant production activities to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Develop and implement an annual plan of operation for the nursery.
• Supervise seed collection, treatment, and storage processes.
• Oversee the propagation, watering, and maintenance of seedlings.
• Ensure infrastructure within the nursery is well-maintained and functional.
• Implement control programs for weeds, insects, pests, and diseases.
• Support the execution of greening programs and forestry awareness campaigns.
• Conduct information sessions and distribute promotional materials related to tree planting.
• Monitor tree planting efforts and assess tree survival rates.
• Provide administrative support, including reporting and inventory management.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in forestry or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the National Forests Act and the National Veld and Forest Fire Act.
• Familiarity with housing management and operations management practices.
• Proven project management skills and strategic planning capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel as required.
