What You’ll Do
- Maintain and update the forest central master growing stock database using the Microforest system.
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts on the Microforest system while monitoring activities.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of user accounts and compile Audit Trail Reports.
- Develop tactical harvesting plans for plantations in the region.
- Conduct site visits to coordinate the re-mapping of plantations with GIS support.
- Collect and analyze data for annual production planning and forest management.
- Prepare valuation documents for biological assets and compile asset valuation reports.
- Manage the processing and auditing of enumeration data.
- Lead training sessions for enumeration teams and ensure compliance with policies.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Forestry or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years of experience in Forestry or a related field.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the National Forests Act and the National Veld and Forest Fires Act.
- Familiarity with forestry planning systems and financial management principles.
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work under pressure.
- A valid driving license and willingness to travel.
