What You’ll Do

  • Initiate and authorize local and foreign payments on the Safety Web banking system in compliance with SWIFT requirements.
  • Process cancellations of payments and assist with grant payments to municipal primary accounts as prescribed by DORA.
  • Verify payments to municipalities excluded from the DORA schedule according to established rules and regulations.
  • Confirm local and foreign payments settled with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and commercial banks, verifying against SWIFT messages and SARB reports.
  • Upload and submit bank detail verifications to respective banks based on inputs from the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
  • Reconcile daily AVS requests from PMG account holders with data from stakeholder banks.
  • Prepare and process bank charge documents and follow up on outstanding departmental reconciliations.
  • Assist with testing new releases of the Safety Web Banking system and updating relevant manuals.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a minimum National Diploma (equivalent to NQF level 6) in Accounting.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent to NQF level 7) in a related field is advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a financial management environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Accounting principles and practices.
