What You’ll Do

• Promote adherence to GRAP standards and ensure timely submission of credible financial statements.
• Report on compliance with National and Provincial Treasury reforms.
• Assess municipalities’ readiness to compile annual financial statements.
• Review and report on the quality of annual financial statements submitted.
• Support municipalities in improving audit outcomes.
• Monitor and support internal controls within municipalities.
• Manage resources of the Sub-directorate for effective operations.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate degree or advanced diploma (NQF level 7) majoring in Financial Accounting.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in an accounting environment, with at least three years at an Assistant Director/supervisory level.
• Knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Municipal Structures Act (MSA), and relevant local government legislation.
• Skills in leadership, report writing, analytical thinking, communication, presentation, project management, and conflict management.
• Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.
