What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the annual Provincial Economic Review and Outlook (PERO) and Municipal Economic Review and Outlook (MERO) publications.
- Assist in the preparation of Section 3 of the Provincial Budget Statement 1, focusing on economic, social, and labour issues.
- Support the creation of annual financial statements and Quarterly Labour Market Reviews.
- Conduct socio-economic research and analysis to inform departmental policies.
- Analyze key economic variables and their implications for budget planning.
- Maintain and update the Provincial Socio-Economic indicators database.
- Collaborate in the development of departmental publications and reports.
What You’ll Need
- An Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in research or economic policy analysis.
- Knowledge of the Division of Revenue Act, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Treasury Regulations.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and research skills.
- Excellent publication writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications and a valid driver’s license.
