What You’ll Do
- Review and evaluate EIA applications to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and compile detailed site visit reports.
- Coordinate with the Enforcement & Licensing unit to facilitate seamless processing of applications.
- Provide professional advice during EIA decision-making processes.
- Draft submissions and recommendations for EIA decisions.
- Assist in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to environmental impact management.
- Liaise with stakeholders and clients regarding applications for Environmental Authorisations.
- Support the administration and monitoring of compliance with environmental authorisations issued.
- Provide technical inputs into appeals lodged with the Minister in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).
- Contribute to the development of environmental-related legislation and policies.
What You’ll Need
- An Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years’ relevant working experience in the EIA sector.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Environmental Management Act and related regulations.
- Experience in processing EIA decisions and a solid understanding of integrated environmental management.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced computer literacy skills are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel and a valid driving license are required.
