What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage the implementation of environmental capacity-building programs.
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder seminars and workshops to promote environmental initiatives.
- Oversee the implementation of the greenest municipality competition.
- Support the local government in executing the Municipal Environmental IDP toolkit.
- Represent the Environmental Branch in district environmental management forums.
- Manage and facilitate the formation of environmental stakeholder forums.
- Compile comprehensive reports for the sub-directorate.
- Assist in the creation of an effective framework for environmental governance in the Waterberg District.
- Perform administrative and related functions to support departmental objectives.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and protocols.
- Familiarity with the Municipal Integrated Development Planning (IDP) process and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of community development and conservation initiatives.
- Proven ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement processes.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong report writing, planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in project/program management and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork and perform data analysis.
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure.
