What You’ll Do
- Plan and implement conservation management programs within the nature reserve.
- Develop and enforce law enforcement programs to uphold environmental regulations.
- Promote awareness and education regarding biodiversity conservation.
- Facilitate ecosystem functioning activities to maintain the health of the reserve.
- Conduct surveys and record data to monitor biodiversity and ecosystem health.
- Manage and maintain infrastructure and recreational facilities within the reserve.
- Engage with stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for conservation efforts.
- Oversee tourism management activities and related administrative functions.
- Ensure the effective management of resources including financial, human, and physical assets, adhering to relevant legislation.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Wildlife Management, Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the Nature Conservation field.
- A valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions made for persons with disabilities).
- No criminal record.
- Strong knowledge of Nature Reserve Management and applicable environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in compiling reports and using firearms.
- Computer literacy and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage change and diversity, along with strong planning and organizational capabilities.
- Financial management skills and policy formulation experience.
