What You’ll Do

• Plan and implement conservation management programs within the nature reserve.
• Develop and enforce law enforcement programs to uphold environmental regulations.
• Promote awareness and education regarding biodiversity conservation.
• Facilitate ecosystem functioning activities to maintain the health of the reserve.
• Conduct surveys and record data to monitor biodiversity and ecosystem health.
• Manage and maintain infrastructure and recreational facilities within the reserve.
• Engage with stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for conservation efforts.
• Oversee tourism management activities and related administrative functions.
• Ensure the effective management of resources including financial, human, and physical assets, adhering to relevant legislation.

What You’ll Need

• An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Wildlife Management, Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in the Nature Conservation field.
• A valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate.
• A valid driver’s license (with exceptions made for persons with disabilities).
• No criminal record.
• Strong knowledge of Nature Reserve Management and applicable environmental legislation.
• Proficiency in compiling reports and using firearms.
• Computer literacy and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, people management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage change and diversity, along with strong planning and organizational capabilities.
• Financial management skills and policy formulation experience.
