What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage environmental capacity-building programs for communities
• Facilitate seminars and indabas with multiple stakeholders
• Organize and oversee the greenest municipality competition
• Implement local government support strategies and the Municipal Environmental IDP toolkit
• Represent the Environmental Branch in district forums focused on environmental management
• Facilitate the formation and functioning of environmental stakeholder forums
• Compile reports for the sub-directorate on environmental initiatives
• Support the implementation framework for effective environmental governance
• Perform necessary administrative functions related to environmental projects

What You’ll Need

• An NQF 6 qualification in Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, or Environmental Sciences (or equivalent)
• A valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and protocols
• Familiarity with the Integrated Development Planning (IDP) process and relevant legislation
• Understanding of environmental capacity-building approaches and community conservation
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement processes
• Proficiency in computer applications and report writing
• Excellent planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills
• Capability to work under pressure and manage projects effectively
