What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement the district’s strategic plan and annual performance targets.
  • Manage the district budget in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • Oversee the performance monitoring and reporting for arts, culture, sport, recreation, and library services.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the district to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Coordinate the implementation of services through various facilities, including libraries and recreation centres.
  • Participate in District Development Model (DDM) activities and attend Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) forum meetings.
  • Prepare and present performance reports and other necessary documentation to the Accounting Officer.
  • Implement the Performance Management and Development System for effective staff performance management.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • A Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Social Science, Management, or Administration.
  • A Postgraduate qualification in Administration or Management is an advantage.
  • A minimum of five years relevant experience at Middle or Senior Management level.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Completion of an SMS pre-entry programme and obtaining a Nyukela Certificate before appointment.
  • Extensive knowledge of government legislation and policies.
  • Strong financial and people management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
