About the Role
The Department of Agriculture is searching for a Director: SCM Governance & Compliance, based at the Head Office in Polokwane. This pivotal role not only contributes to the efficient functioning of the provincial supply chain management (SCM) but also plays a crucial part in ensuring that public funds are used effectively and transparently. By overseeing the development and implementation of SCM governance frameworks and policies, the successful candidate will help enhance public service delivery, ultimately benefiting the communities of Limpopo and beyond.

What You’ll Do
- Manage the strategic SCM governance and capacity-building initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and review provincial SCM governance frameworks and policies.
- Roll out SCM-related policies and standard operating procedures to various provincial departments.
- Facilitate training programs for SCM practitioners and bid committee members.
- Provide advisory services on SCM matters to provincial departments and public entities.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and analysis of SCM practices.
- Prepare comprehensive governance and compliance reports for various stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate systemic SCM risks and non-compliance trends.
- Oversee the management of human, physical, and financial resources in line with departmental objectives.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at a middle or senior managerial level in the broader Supply Chain Environment.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management is an advantage.
- A valid driver’s license (with provisions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong understanding of the PFMA, PPPFA, and relevant SCM policies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior officials and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and risk management.
