What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Recreation Management Unit.
• Develop and implement strategies for various recreation programmes.
• Oversee the planning, monitoring, and execution of recreation activities.
• Manage the Mass Participation Conditional Grant Business Plan in line with national frameworks.
• Prepare and collate performance reports, ensuring compliance and effectiveness of programmes.
• Engage with stakeholders to enhance recreation activities in municipal areas.
• Support the management and sustainability of recreation centres.
• Implement performance management systems and ensure staff development and recognition.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 12 Certificate and a Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Recreation Management, Administration, or a relevant qualification.
• A minimum of five years’ relevant experience at Middle or Senior Management level.
• A valid driver’s license and completion of an SMS pre-entry programme.
• Extensive knowledge of the recreation industry and relevant legislation.
• Strong financial management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and experience in stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in report writing, presentation, and computer literacy.
