The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport is seeking a dedicated and visionary individual to fill the role of Director: Recreation at their Head Office in Mmabatho. What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Recreation Management Unit.
- Develop and implement strategies for various recreation programmes.
- Oversee the planning, monitoring, and execution of recreation activities.
- Manage the Mass Participation Conditional Grant Business Plan in line with national frameworks.
- Prepare and collate performance reports, ensuring compliance and effectiveness of programmes.
- Engage with stakeholders to enhance recreation activities in municipal areas.
- Support the management and sustainability of recreation centres.
- Implement performance management systems and ensure staff development and recognition.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate and a Degree, Advanced Diploma, or B-Tech at NQF Level 7 in Recreation Management, Administration, or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of five years’ relevant experience at Middle or Senior Management level.
- A valid driver’s license and completion of an SMS pre-entry programme.
- Extensive knowledge of the recreation industry and relevant legislation.
- Strong financial management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and experience in stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in report writing, presentation, and computer literacy.
