What You’ll Do
- Manage the development and implementation of mechanical engineering policies and professional standards.
- Develop evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of engineering operations.
- Provide technical consulting services to minimize engineering risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve departmental goals.
- Lead the maintenance strategy for engineering operations to ensure optimal availability and performance.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the Directorate.
- Compile and submit administrative reports to track progress and performance.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of NQF 7 in Mechanical Engineering as recognized by SAQA.
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role within the mechanical engineering field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering best practices and relevant legislation.
- Strong skills in project management, financial administration, and technical report writing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
