What You’ll Do

• Manage the development and implementation of mechanical engineering policies and professional standards.
• Develop evaluation criteria to measure the effectiveness of engineering operations.
• Provide technical consulting services to minimize engineering risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve departmental goals.
• Lead the maintenance strategy for engineering operations to ensure optimal availability and performance.
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the Directorate.
• Compile and submit administrative reports to track progress and performance.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of NQF 7 in Mechanical Engineering as recognized by SAQA.
• At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role within the mechanical engineering field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering best practices and relevant legislation.
• Strong skills in project management, financial administration, and technical report writing.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
