What You’ll Do
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the application processing unit to ensure effective service delivery.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
- Implement and monitor compliance with the Batho Pele Principles in all interactions.
- Analyze performance against service level agreements and address any bottlenecks in the process.
- Develop and enforce quality assurance strategies and data quality measures.
- Manage financial operations within the unit, including accurate reporting and accounting.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and implement controls to prevent losses.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
- Drive innovation and strategic objectives as part of the Directorate’s mission.
- Mentor staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote professional development.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification in Public Management, Public Administration, Operations Management, or a related field at NQF level 7, as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at a Middle or Senior Managerial level with extensive operations management experience.
- Strong understanding of the Constitution of South Africa and relevant public service legislation.
- Knowledge of the Immigration Act and the Public Finance Management Act.
- Proven project management skills and experience in optimizing operational processes.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
