What You’ll Do
- Identify and negotiate affiliation agreements with clinical, community, and research settings for student placements.
- Supervise and support university students during their practical training.
- Conduct comprehensive orientation sessions for students prior to their supervised practice rotations.
- Monitor and manage student evaluations, including mid-point and final assessments.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate clinical learning objectives with academic coursework.
- Maintain detailed records of student placements and performance data to meet accreditation standards.
- Participate in program review and accreditation activities, providing essential data and insights.
- Facilitate optimal nutritional care for patients, even during periods without student involvement.
- Teach courses related to food service management and clinical nutrition as needed.
- Promote dietetic services and engage in research initiatives.
What You’ll Need
- A qualification allowing registration with the HPCSA as a Dietitian.
- Registration with the HPCSA as an Independent Practice Dietitian.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration.
- A master’s degree in nutrition and/or dietetics is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant health regulations and policies impacting nutrition.
- Strong understanding of dietetics practices, professional ethics, and healthcare systems.
- Excellent communication skills for negotiation and relationship management.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in standard office software and experience with learning management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
