What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the acquisition of strategically located land in line with national priorities.
  • Consult with relevant stakeholders to identify suitable land for state acquisition.
  • Maintain a project register detailing land targeted for acquisition.
  • Facilitate the mapping and overlaying of identified land with key commodities.
  • Coordinate property assessments and valuations to support land acquisition efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies throughout the land allocation process.
  • Monitor project updates according to Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) requirements.
  • Manage the selection of candidates for land allocation and ensure they receive necessary training.
  • Provide support and guidance on land acquisition procedures and approvals.
  • Maintain a credible land application system and produce management information reports for departmental oversight.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in relevant fields such as Agricultural Studies, Public Administration, or Town Planning (NQF Level 6).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a junior management role.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of land reform legislation and policies, including the Provision of Land and Assistance Act and the Labour Tenants Act.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management and financial management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support land acquisition activities.
