What You’ll Do

  • Manage and oversee the total security function, including personnel, documentation, and physical security measures.
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities, advising on the necessary security protocols to mitigate threats.
  • Develop and implement a departmental security policy, ensuring compliance across all levels.
  • Run security awareness programs and advise management on the implications of security-related decisions.
  • Liaise with the State Security Agency (SSA) and South African Police Service (SAPS) for guidance and collaboration on security matters.
  • Monitor adherence to security policies, conducting vetting for officials with access to sensitive information.
  • Manage resources effectively, including budgeting, training, and performance management.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 6) in Security Management, Social Science Management, or a related field.
  • At least three to four years of supervisory experience in a Security Management environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation concerning public security, including the Minimum Information Security Standards Act (MISS).
  • Familiarity with security business processes and risk management strategies.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required.
